Everybodys favourite Badman Crooner-slash-Gospelsinger Movado just released the officially Video for his Billboard-Monster-Hitsingle „I’m so special“ on TJ’s relick of Dave Kellys legendary „Showtime„-Riddim called „Unfinished Business„.

Maybe we’re getting a next dancehall-hype because of that, like a couple of years back when Sean Paul still was hot.

The video is really boring and average for me, but seems like it is well MTV/VIVA/YAVIDO/WHATEVER-compatible.

I personally would wish for that.

For those of you who also reading books instead of just another weblog, I have a simple advice:

Go and buy yourself this book, because you NEED it. Period.

„Beth Lesser’s definitive new study of the 1980s Jamaican Dancehall scene features hundreds of exclusive photographs and accompanying text that captures a vibrant, globally influential and yet rarely documented culture that has been mixing music, fashion and lifestyle with aplomb since its inception. With unprecedented access to the incredibly vibrant music scene during this period, Beth Lesser’s photographs and text are a unique way in to a previously hidden culture.“

For those of you who been curious about Ivory Sound,

and never heard of them before, I have uploaded a 45 Clash of them versus Boom-a-Ranks Sound ,

both hailing from Belgium, from 2006.

Yesterday Heartbeat Movement from Belgium announced a next clash coming up in June in Groot-Bijgaarden, Belgium,  near to Brussels.

They promote this thing at JK Paddestoel as a Part of their monthly Dance called Joyride (where we’ve played also last year).

On the 5th of June

Ivory Sound from Belgium and

Sting-Like-A-Bee from Germany

will buck up inna Dubplates-Only-Soundwar,

both of them for the first time I think.

Rules goes like this:

„1ST RULE: NO CUSTOMMADE TUNES
SECOND RULE: THE MASSIVE IS THE JUDGE

ROUND 1: 20MIN DUBPLATE (INTRODUCTION ROUND)
ROUND 2: 15MIN DUBPLATE
ROUND 3: 10MIN DUBPLATE

DUB FI DUB:
EVERY SOUND PLAY’S 10 TUNES (FOUNDATION)“

If your flemish is as good as mine, you can read a discussion about this clash on the Beljam Reggae Dancehall Board.

Really looking out for this.

This Friday, the 30th of January, we’re playing alongside our buddies from Mango Tree at their monthly Dance called

„CHAMPIONS BASHMENT“

at E-Werk in Erlangen.

Unfortunatly I don’t have a flyer for this event, but you can get some more information here.

People, if you’re near by Erlangen this friday you better show up, cause everytime we’re juggling together it’s pure fiiiire!

For real, we’re going bananas, trust me.

Last week, Herbalize-Its own, Sultan, the promoter for the clash, announced to the world that LP International will not taking a part in the War ina East 2009 due to some unknown issues.

You can read the full press release here on DHR.

Good news is that the guys found a next, for me even better, competitor!

Now the big, bad and bold Poison Dart from Tampa will team up with Tek9 against the germans.

No disrespect to LP, but i’m way more interessted to see Poison Dart for the first time live .

And due to the reason that Pretty Rick and Tarantula are one of my favorite mcees out there I’m really excited bout these news.

Anyways, here’s the new flyer:
