Mortal Kombat Sounds MC U-Cee with his tune One Sound on the Soulfire Hifi produced Riddim called Chupacabra.

POPULAR deejay Elephant Man has been taken into police custody and is being questioned  by detectives from the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA). Officials from CISOCA said the entertainer, whose real name is Oniel Bryan, was being questioned in relation to a number of sexually-based allegations.

 Elephant Man was arrested in June last year at his home on Hillcrest Avenue in St Andrew and charged with stealing electricity

Californian Reggae Artist Jah Sun is finally about to drop his long awaited debut album Battle the Dragon this spring!

The album is produced by Special Delivery Music from France and will also feature productions from the Far East Band and Dynasty Records.

DJ Child of Project Groundation did a Preview Mix of the Album Tunes which you can check via Youtube.

I’ve heard snippets of all the tunes and must say this records sounds really good, I love the Curtis Lynch productions.

[so gesehen] Nach so langer Zeit im Business wäre sinkende Motivation eine logische Schlussfolgerung. Woher ziehst du persönlich deine Motivation Woche für Woche Reggae und Dancehallmusik, insbesondere auch aktuelle Produktionen, unters Volk zu bringen?

[spider] Es gibt halt vieles an der neuen Musik was mich immer noch catched und mich die Musik feiern lässt. Natürlich kann ich mich mehr dafür begeistern New Tunes auf nem Dance zu spielen als zum zigsten Mal den Wipe Out. Gerade wenn man jede Woche auflegt, ist es immer schwierig ständig Tunes aufzulegen die man nicht mehr hören kann aber für den Großteil der Massive, der einmal im Monat auf nen Dance geht was ganz besonderes ist. Klar ist es für einen selber wesentlich motivierender Musik zu spielen auf die man selber bock hat und die man auch authentisch feiern kann und das macht denke ich auch ein Stück unserer Art zu spielen aus, dass wir uns daran orientieren was wir wirklich persönlich gerne hören, selbst wenn andere Tunes den kompletten Laden zum ausrasten bringen würden.
Grundsätzlich kann man sagen, dass sich Musik immer verändert und, gerade aktuell, auch viel Mist dabei ist und jede Menge Hype. Ich denke aber, dass man da irgendwie mit der Zeit gehen muss und sich den aktuellen Gegebenheiten anpassen sollte.

Here’s a nice Interview with one of the most talented Penthouse Records Studio Engineers from the 90′s, and nowadays Beenie Man’s official Live Soundengineer, Andrew Thomas, via Penthouse Records.free.fr

How did you learn the mixing process ?
Hanging around studios was my teaching mainly and I also was an apprentice learning from the elder engineers. In Mo’Bay I experienced mixing on a 8 tracks recording with Ed Robinson at Tiff Tam Recording Studio, that was in the early 90′s. Barry O’Hare and Stephen Stewart from Grove Recording Studio, Ocho Rios, were around showing me more about the technique of engineering. From there Barry kind of took me as his apprentice, nowadays he is a very good friend of mine. Spending many years working at Grove Studio, I had a wonderful time working with some of the greatest artists and musicians in Jamaica and overseas. I’ve worked on songs of Shaggy Wonder, Garnet Silk, Jigsy King and the Roof biggest hit “A Who Seh Me Dun / Wait De Man” by Cutty Ranks. So much hits ! In those days Penthouse was running the business so I knew I had to move to town to get the right experience.
